Summary
The Education intern will assist with in‑house educational programs which include: creating gallery guides, leading tours, hands‑on activities during tours, preparing for and facilitating creative projects, family days, workshops, as well as exhibition/art history related planning/execution and activities. Will assist with educational activities and outreach during large‑scale events and scheduled programming. Will learn how to manage and connect with partnered schools and community groups to run art education programs efficiently.
Other opportunities include: touring youth and adult groups through exhibitions, developing curriculum, assisting with education outreach, shadowing teaching artists or MAM staff, and helping with program evaluation.
- Term: 10 weeks (June 17 – August 28, 2026)
- Schedule:10 hours per week (Monday–Thursday 9 am-6 pm and Friday 9 am–5 pm).
Requirements:
- Understanding subject matter and objectives for K-12 student learning
- Experience working with students or children of any age
- Detail-oriented, organized, enthusiastic, and capable of doing repetitive tasks
- Works well in a team and independently
- Pursuing a degree in education, art history, studio art, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Planning instruction and designing learning experiences
- Classroom instruction experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Comfortable speaking to large groups of people
Education: Enrolled in a Bachelor program for art education, museum studies, art history, history, education, studio art, fine arts or related fields.
Compensation$22 per hour
