Purpose

The CNS Career Services Office is seeking motivated CNS students to serve as Peer Career Advocate (PCA) student leaders who support and mentor peers in their career development while working alongside professional staff. The role includes extensive career coach training and is open to students passionate about helping others and collaborating across campus.

Responsibilities
  • Meet with students via Zoom or in-person to explore tech careers, review resumes, guide job and internship searches, review 12

    Twenty and Linked In profiles, and support interview prep.
  • Learn and use the brain-based model of career coaching in appointments and serve as a role model of professional behavior to peers.
  • Engage in outreach to the CNS community to promote CNS Career Services and the culture of career readiness within CNS.
  • Assist in staffing in-person events throughout the semester.
  • Maintain confidentiality about all student academic and personal information in accordance with university and federal policies and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including career-related projects like creating handouts and resources for student education.
  • Assist with social media content and promotion.
Required Qualifications
  • CNS student (open to any major)
  • Enrolled in 12 hours for Fall 2026
  • Graduation date no earlier than May 2026
  • Overall 3.0 GPA or higher
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with outreach and social media strategies
  • Preferably at least one prior industry internship
  • Previous mentorship experience
Salary Range

$13.00 per hour
