Adjunct Faculty, Psychology

Responsible for preparing and delivering Psychology coursework to a multicultural student population, ensuring engaging, innovative instruction and fostering a supportive learning environment.

• Prepare and teach Psychology courses based on approved learning outcomes, using a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to community‑college students.
• Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes and departmental expectations.
• Provide teaching and mentoring services to students in a manner that does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status.
• Remain current in the field through professional development activities.
• Teach high‑school students in Dual Credit classes at area high schools; teach face‑to‑face lecture classes on the ACC campus as required.
• Order textbooks, develop syllabi, assign grades, and maintain regular office hours to assist students and improve retention.
• Use an online learning management system (e.g., Blackboard) to develop course content, post office hours, and perform administrative duties.
• Participate in college‑wide, departmental, or campus activities and meetings; comply with published policies and meet professional teaching standards.

• Master’s Degree in Psychology or a related area with 18 graduate hours in Psychology.
• No substitution for educational requirements.

• Ability to teach Dual Credit high‑school classes.
• Willingness to teach face‑to‑face lecture classes on the ACC campus.
• Proficiency with online learning platforms and computer applications.
