Overview

Austin Achieve Public Schools is a tuition-free, open-enrollment public charter school preparing Austin youth to attend and excel at the nation's top colleges and universities. As the culture leader of the school, the Assistant Principal of Culture (APC) reports directly to the campus principal and works closely within the campus leadership team. The APC is responsible for the school culture and will assist the principal in establishing and maintaining the vision and culture of high expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and hold all stakeholders accountable to school-wide culture systems, including hallway expectations, lunch, arrival, dismissal, and uniform compliance
  • Respond to and handle scholar concerns, disciplinary interventions, and re-entry conversations
  • Manage and support the Elementary Restorative Justice program
  • Support and coach instructional staff around restorative practices and classroom management strategies
  • Responsible for grade-level culture by managing the grade-level chair team
  • Track culture data (referral patterns, re-entry rates, repeat interventions) and use it to identify trends and adjust systems
  • Engage parents at the campus level to foster a strong school community
  • Roll out and oversee school-wide systems, such as lunch and hallway expectations
  • Lead grade-level community meetings and scholar ambassador initiatives
  • Train teachers to implement Tier 1 behavior supports in the classroom rooted in restorative practices
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Previous school leadership experience, including direct management of staff
  • Experience building and maintaining school-wide culture systems
  • Experience implementing restorative justice practices in schools
