Purpose

The Academic Advising Coordinator is responsible for managing and supporting academic advising services, student records, enrollment processes, and departmental initiatives. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, as well as a commitment to student success and professional development.

Responsibilities

* Oversight of advising unit:
Implement and manage undergraduate academic advising services; including registration advising during peak periods, support for advising staff throughout the semester, and summer orientation. Supervise advising staff and graduate coordinator. Review and award scholarships in collaboration with the Scholarship Office, department, and associate academic advisor. Provide assistance to graduate students when needed (

* Course and Curriculum Management:
Manage all phases of course scheduling, catalog updates, final exam reporting, grade reporting, updates and audits in FaSET. Oversee course instructor surveys ordering and results management. Reserve classrooms for class related requests.

* Data Requests, Analysis, and Program Assessment:
Manage undergraduate and graduate enrollments during semester registration periods; collect and present data to communicate enrollment needs to the department chair. Provide department leadership with student program data when needed. Assist associate chair with ABET accreditation material. Submit data and outcomes for university-wide assessment

* Faculty Support:
Provide faculty with resources including support for student needs, scholastic dishonesty concerns, and connections to additional university resources. Serve on various departmental committees (curriculum & accreditation, student experience, strategic planning)

* Admission and Outreach:
Participate in various academic outreach and recruiting events within the department, school and university such as;
Admitted Student Event, Gone to Engineering, Industry Open House, and commencement.
