Position Overview
The Texas Education Agency's Office of Governance (OG) is driven by a powerful mission: to proactively support school systems, keep students safe, and uphold Texas education law with integrity, objectivity, and excellence. By working closely with school systems and agency teams, we help ensure every Texas public school student has access to a safe, high-quality education.
On behalf of the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) and the Commissioner of Education, the Educator Investigations Division (EID) is committed to protecting the safety and welfare of students across Texas. By investigating allegations of misconduct involving educators, school employees, and school contractors, EID plays a vital role in maintaining a secure and trustworthy learning environment. The division is structured into three primary units:
Intake, Investigations, and the Child Abuse Reporting and Investigation Monitoring Team (CARRT).
The Program Supervisor for the Child Abuse Reporting and Investigation Monitoring Team (CARRT) leads the agency's critical work to ensure compliance with Tx Education Code §22A.156 to safeguard students and strengthen accountability across the state. This role sets the direction for a high-performing team, ensuring school systems meet the legal requirements for reporting and investigating educator misconduct and child abuse.
The position drives the development and continuous refinement of policies and procedures, spearheads the creation and delivery of trainings for school systems, and oversees the unit's data monitoring, escalation, investigation and referral functions. As the leader of a team of senior investigators, the Program Supervisor establishes clear goals, develops talent, and builds a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
Operating with significant autonomy, this role partners across the agency and with external stakeholders to advance the mission of our work. Reporting to the Director of Educator Investigations, the Program Supervisor brings strong leadership, sound judgment, and an unwavering commitment to protecting students across Texas.
