Job Description

Summary:

The Project Manager - Workforce Development & Industry Programs supports the planning, coordination, and execution of statewide semiconductor workforce initiatives led by the Texas A&M Semiconductor Institute (TSI). This position manages complex, multi-partner projects across higher education institutions, industry partners, workforce organizations, and government agencies, with an emphasis on aligning education and training programs to industry needs. The role focuses primarily on large-scale, externally funded or institutionally sponsored workforce initiatives that require statewide coordination, partner engagement, convenings, data reporting, and compliance support.

In addition, the position supports the development and management of semiconductor training programs, funding and grant development activities, and industry engagement to advance sustainable workforce solutions.

Responsibilities:

Project Management & Statewide Workforce Initiative Coordination (80%)

* Manage day-to-day operations of complex, multi-institution workforce initiatives led by TSI.

* Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, deliverables.

* Coordinate work across universities, community and technical colleges, industry partners, workforce organizations, government agencies, funded partners, and contractors.

* Serve as a liaison among partners, sponsors, internal leadership, and participating institutions to support alignment, communication, and timely execution.

* Support governance activities, working groups, steering committees, employer advisory meetings, and recurring project coordination meetings.

* Track partner commitments, deliverables, performance indicators, reporting obligations, risks, coordination gaps, and implementation issues.

* Plan and support statewide convenings, workshops, and working sessions, including, coordinate agendas, logistics, materials, attendance tracking, speaker or participant follow-up, and post-event summaries for in-person and virtual events.

* Coordinate collection, organization, and validation of workforce and program data from partners.

* Support quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reporting for funded or institutionally sponsored initiatives.

* Maintain documentation to support audits, evaluations, sponsor requirements, and institutional compliance requirements.

Training Programs, Funding & Industry Engagement (15%)

* Support coordination and deployment of semiconductor-related training programs, including non-credit short courses, certificates, micro-credentials, and pilot initiatives.

* Assist with needs assessment and alignment of training programs to industry workforce requirements.

* Support grant proposals, budgets, funding applications, sustainability strategies, and related supporting materials.

* Interface with industry partners to understand workforce needs, support customized training solutions, and assist with securing donated or loaned equipment.

* Other Duties as Assigned (5%)

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in education, engineering, business, public administration, or a related field.

* Five (5) or more years of experience in project management, workforce development, higher education administration, technical training, or multi-institution program coordination.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.

* Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.

* Experience supporting grant-funded, compliance-driven, or externally sponsored initiatives.

* Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
