AboutThis Role
We are seeking a thoughtful, adaptable, and enthusiastic Middle School Teacher to guide a smaller cohort of 10-12 students in a multi-age classroom, with a primary focus on science/math, while also supporting instruction across other core subjects. This position can be a full-time opportunity or split into part-time positions (allowing for up to 2 teachers to join our team). The role is ideal for someone who values experiential education, enjoys working in both classroom and outdoor settings, and is excited to collaborate within a close-knit, mission‑driven team.
The successful candidate will be passionate about education and committed to nurturing curiosity, critical thinking, and environmental stewardship in a community‑based school.
- Lead engaging instruction in science and introductory robotics, emphasizing inquiry, experimentation, and real‑world application
- Support teaching in core subjects such as math or integrated studies as needed; partnered with Austin Community College for dual‑credit courses
- Design interdisciplinary lessons that connect STEM learning with nature, sustainability, and hands‑on exploration
- Facilitate outdoor learning experiences, including environmental studies, field‑based projects, and model‑building activities
- Foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem‑solving skills through project‑based learning
- Support students’ social‑emotional growth alongside academic development
- Create a classroom environment rooted in curiosity, respect, and collaboration
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning styles and developmental needs
- Collaborate closely with fellow educators to deliver cohesive and meaningful curriculum
- Communicate regularly with families to support student growth and engagement
- Participate in school events, community activities, and ongoing professional development
- 2 years of experience teaching middle school students
- Comfortable supporting instruction across multiple subject areas as needed
- Passionate about science‑based education and outdoor learning environments
- Enjoys hands‑on teaching methods such as experiments, building, and project‑based learning
- Values holistic education, including emotional well‑being and character development
- Flexible, collaborative, and growth‑oriented mindset
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Background in education or a related field
- Experience with extracurricular programming

This is a full‑time position (8 a.m.–4 p.m.) but can be split between two educators as well. Salary will depend on experience and fit with our program.
