Position OverviewOur Grade 1 Teacher will create a warm, engaging, and developmentally responsive learning environment where students are encouraged to explore, collaborate, ask questions, and grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
This educator will integrate outdoor learning, hands‑on experiences, and project‑based investigations into daily instruction.

DutiesKey Responsibilities:
- Design and facilitate meaningful, inquiry‑based learning experiences aligned with Reggio‑inspired practices
- Foster a classroom culture centered on curiosity, creativity, kindness, and belonging
- Incorporate outdoor and nature‑based learning into weekly instruction and exploration
- Observe, document, and reflect on children’s learning processes and development
- Support foundational literacy, numeracy, and social‑emotional growth in developmentally appropriate ways
- Create engaging provocations and beautiful learning environments that inspire discovery
- Collaborate closely with colleagues, school leadership, and families
- Maintain strong communication with parents regarding student growth and classroom experiences
- Encourage student voice, independence, and collaborative problem‑solving
- Participate in school events, professional development, and community‑building activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
- Valid teaching certification/license preferred but not required
- Experience teaching early elementary students, preferably Grades K-1‑2
- Familiarity with or strong interest in the Reggio Emilia approach
- Passion for outdoor education, gardening, nature walks, and experiential learning
- Strong classroom management rooted in respect and relationship‑building
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Creative, reflective, and flexible mindset
