Salary: $5,797.66 - $7,653.00 (Monthly)

Position OverviewThe Educator Leadership Specialist will be part of the Talent Pathways division, overseeing strategic staffing to improve teacher and principal pathways. This role designs and implements leadership preparation strategies.
Essential Functions- Supports strategic planning and implementation of leader preparation strategies, including landscape scanning, proposal development, and aligning with statewide appraisal systems.
- Supports teacher leadership strategies, focusing on instructional leadership practices and alignment across roles, and manages the PREP Mentorship Program and related training.
- Provides high-quality technical assistance to LEAs and preparation programs, including vendor collaboration, Education Service Center coordination, and alignment facilitation.
- Partners with agency subject matter experts and vendors to create and improve teacher leadership work and principal pathways.
- Supports change management and stakeholder engagement, communicating the state vision for teacher leadership, mentorship, and principal preparation, and serves as a resource to the State Board for Educator Certification.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university.
- At least five years of experience in education, including campus and/or district‑level administration.
Other Qualifications
- Share the belief that all Texas students can achieve at high levels and succeed in college, career, or the military.
- Previous experience as a campus or district administrator and broad knowledge of the Texas education landscape (previous principal experience preferred).
- Previous experience with Strong Foundations, Texas Instructional Leadership, Effective Schools Framework, and Effective District Framework preferred.
- Ability to lead by influence, build investment, and communicate complex ideas clearly.
- Ability to develop and manage project plans with multiple, cross‑functional owners to execute milestones, track progress, and ensure on‑time and high‑quality deliverables.
- Ability to create clarity when ambiguity exists; ask strategic questions, gather and synthesize information, and plan next steps.
- Ability to communicate and utilize systems and tools to balance multiple projects at different stages while maintaining quality and consistency.
