NYOS Charter School-Not Your Ordinary School-is a high-performing, PreK-12 public charter school in Austin, Texas, serving more than 1,800 students. Founded in 1998, NYOS has grown into one of the region's most established charter schools, known for strong academic outcomes, a collaborative professional culture, and a commitment to educating the whole child.
NYOS consistently delivers strong academic results, including a 98% four-year graduation rate, with student performance exceeding state and national averages. The school's PreK-12 model provides a cohesive educational experience that supports both academic achievement and long-term student development.

These priorities are embedded in daily instruction and supported by systems that enable consistency across grade levels. Teachers are provided more than seven hours per week for dedicated collaboration and planning, allowing for data-driven instruction and continuous improvement.
Students benefit from small class sizes, meaningful relationships with educators, and opportunities for field-based learning and civic engagement. NYOS maintains a culture grounded in respect, accountability, and high expectations, where students are known, supported, and challenged to grow.
