Position: Teacher Certified in Visual Impairment Needed

Minimum 1+ years visually impaired experience required.

Soliant is currently seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team for the  academic year. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an out-of-state certified educator to make a profound impact on the lives of students with visual impairments. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students with visual impairments
  • Provide direct instruction in braille literacy, orientation and mobility, assistive technology, and other specialized skills
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the academic and social success of students
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students visual functioning and educational progress
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and adaptive materials to promote student engagement and achievement
  • Stay current with best practices, research, and technology in the field of visual impairment education
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field;
    Master's degree preferred
  • Valid state teaching certification in Visual Impairment or ability to obtain reciprocity in South Carolina
  • Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of braille, tactile graphics, and assistive technology
  • Excellent munication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
