Summary
The School Psychologist possesses expertise in comprehensive psycho‑educational assessment, Special Education eligibility determination, academic and behavioral evaluation, data analysis, and student support services. This position is skilled in administering and interpreting a variety of standardized assessments, preparing comprehensive evaluation reports, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop effective support strategies. The role provides consultation and support to students, families, and school staff to promote positive academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional outcomes.
This position is responsible for managing complex caseloads while exercising sound professional judgment and maintaining compliance with legal and ethical standards. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
- Conduct comprehensive psycho‑educational evaluations to determine eligibility for Special Education services.
- Administer, score, and interpret standardized psychological, cognitive, academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional assessments to evaluate student needs.
- Analyze assessment data and prepare clear, thorough evaluation reports with evidence‑based recommendations for intervention and support.
- Monitor student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and services.
- Provide consultation to service providers, school staff, and families regarding academic, behavioral, social‑emotional, and mental health concerns.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student achievement and promote positive educational outcomes.
- Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD)/IEP meetings and other multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Apply effective problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills to address student, programmatic, and organizational needs.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills when working with students, families, and school staff.
- Maintain compliance with district policies, procedures, ethical standards, and applicable legal requirements.
- Stay informed of changes in federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and professional standards related to Special Education and School Psychology.
- Participate in continuing education, training, and professional learning opportunities to enhance clinical, assessment, consultation, and intervention skills.
- Adapt effectively to changing priorities, responsibilities, and educational environments.
- Demonstrate professionalism through appropriate conduct, appearance, dependability, and accountability.
- Meet established standards for attendance, punctuality, and timely completion of assigned responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in school psychology or any related field.
- Licensure from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists as an LSP or;
- candidate for Texas Licensure under a supervisory agreement with an approved supervisor and who has passed all necessary testing for licensure;
- holds a current, valid license from a state that has a reciprocity agreement that may be transferred to Texas.
- Current LSSP Licensure in accordance with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
- Sign Language:
The ultimate required proficiency level for the position using the levels designated in the Signed Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) is ADVANCED.
- Proficient signed communication skills.
- Experience in a school setting.
- Experience working with students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have multiple disabilities.
- Experience managing and conducting student Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings.
