Travel

Position requires up to 5% travel throughout the state of Texas.

Purpose

Supports efforts and ensures fidelity of implementation of the OnRamps History courses and coordinates a high-level of instructional and professional development service and support to OnRamps Instructors, OnRamps Students, and UT Faculty.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises full‑time staff to ensure provision of 1:1 instructional, professional development, and technical service and support to instructors, ensuring implementation fidelity, teacher growth in OnRamps four pillars, and retention. Manages systems to provide just‑in‑time support to instructors using standardized support strategies. Designs and implements strategic interventions for teachers/student improvement.
  • Leads the design and implementation of annual professional learning institutes during Summer, Fall, and Spring for OnRamps instructors in collaboration with the OnRamps Assistant Director and Professional Learning and Development team.
  • Uses standardized relationship‑building strategies to cultivate and lead a facilitated network of OnRamps Instructors, maintaining weekly newsletters, monthly virtual conferences, and virtual or in‑person site visits.
  • Designs and oversees systems to monitor and support curriculum implementation to ensure fidelity to the pillar of college‑aligned content and provides feedback to students using data on engagement and academic integrity.
  • Designs and oversees the grading mechanism approved by the Instructor of Record, including grading, calibration, quality assurance protocols, and other assessment activities.
  • Utilizes data to illuminate student learning and engagement and employs a data‑driven decision process that guides professional learning, instructor and student support, enhancement proposals, and daily workflows.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships by communicating and collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to align work and collectively serve the OnRamps mission, providing exceptional customer service and technical support.
  • Supports and engages in designated special projects as assigned that support the mission and strategic direction of OnRamps.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Rhetoric, English Language Arts, or closely related field and five years teaching experience at a high school or college level.
  • Proficient in Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) or another LMS.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to engage multiple internal and external stakeholders with decorum and tact.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to lay audiences using a respectful, client‑focused approach.
  • Demonstrated understanding of High School teaching and learning in Rhetoric or English Language Arts courses.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in Rhetoric, English Language Arts, or closely related field.
  • Experience developing curriculum, preferably for online delivery.
  • Experience leading large instructional teams at scale.
  • Experience developing and delivering professional‑development initiatives for high school teachers.
  • Experience developing and maintaining online professional learning communities for students and/or teachers.
  • Two years teaching experience in Rhetoric, English Language Arts, or closely related content area at a high school level.
Salary

$80,000 + depending on qualifications.

Working Conditions
  • Position requires up to 5% travel throughout the state of Texas.
  • Weekends and evenings possible to support course implementation, including during summer, spring, and fall professional learning institutes and enrollment deadlines.
