Job DescriptionEvery member of the Team & Family at KIPP Texas Public Schools plays a critical role in ensuring our students have the skills and confidence to pursue the paths they choose—college, career, and beyond. Our educators are passionate advocates for their students and families, working tirelessly to provide access to opportunity. As a Teacher, you will deliver exceptional instruction and assess student growth while proactively supporting your school and team.
Responsibilities- Develop year‑long Texas State standards‑based unit plans and lesson plans that meet all students’ learning needs.
- Use assessment data to modify short‑ and long‑term plans to promote all students’ academic performance.
- Embrace and incorporate feedback for constant improvement.
- Collaborate with content and grade‑level teams to promote an environment of critical thinking and academic rigor.
- Establish and maintain relationships with students and families based on trust and respect.
- Participate in daily school functions such as morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory duties.
- Attend critical school events such as staff meetings, open houses, and parent‑teacher conferences.
- Develop individualized learning plans for students and communicate these plans to families in parent meetings and conferences.
- Meet professional obligations, including timeliness and consistency in meeting deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university.
- Demonstrated knowledge of core subject area assigned.
- Texas Teacher Certificate appropriate for level and/or subject area of assignment, if applicable.
- Must be considered highly‑qualified based on NCLB guidelines, if applicable.
- Valid Texas Teacher’s certificate required for all Pre‑K4 and Special Education teaching positions. Proof of licensure will be required prior to starting employment.

- Strong record of helping students achieve academic success, primarily with students in underserved communities.
- Desire to teach an academically intense curriculum and commit to an extended school day, week, and year.
- Continuous learning and willingness to give and receive constructive feedback.
- Flexibility to go beyond obligations to meet the needs of KIPP Texas students.
- Ability to move inside and outside the school throughout the workday.
- Expected to attend conferences, meetings, and training sessions both virtually and in person within the region.
- Reliable transportation needed for travel between campuses.
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
- Work with frequent interruptions.
- Reports to school site Monday‑Friday.
- Typical school environment with frequent interruptions.
- Minimal travel; may travel to other school sites or regional offices for professional learning or meetings.
