Description/Notes: Plans, organizes, implements, and delivers the instructional program in the content area of assignment at the state school for youth who have been adjudicated delinquent of felony offenses, assigned to a high security correctional facility, and have a wide variety of temperaments and specialized needs. Work involves assessing students, providing individualized, competency-based instruction, and maintaining a positive teaching/learning environment in which youth are guided and encouraged to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
QualificationsMinimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and a valid Secondary Texas Teacher Certification in the specified subject assignment area. Must be highly qualified in all areas of teaching assignment. Any degree, diploma, high school equivalent, or course hours required must be from an accredited educational institution.

Continued employment requirements:
- Failure to maintain required licensure/certification will result in termination of employment.
- Obtain and maintain certification in TJJD’s Use of Force techniques, which requires physical restraint of juveniles.

Monthly
Minimum Salary: 5,060.13
Maximum Salary: 8,020.70
