Position
Course Manager – History
OnRamps – Austin, TX
40 hours per week, Exempt from FLSA
Start date:
Immediately
- Supervise full‑time staff to provide 1:1 instructional, professional development, and technical service and support to instructors, ensuring implementation fidelity, teacher growth, and retention.
- Lead the design and implementation of annual professional learning institutes (Summer, Fall, Spring) for OnRamps instructors in close collaboration with the Assistant Director and the Professional Learning and Development team.
- Build and maintain a facilitated network of OnRamps instructors through weekly newsletters, monthly virtual conferences, and virtual or in‑person site visits.
- Design and oversee systems to monitor and support curriculum implementation, ensuring fidelity to the college‑aligned content pillar and keeping instructor resources current and accessible.
- Manage grading mechanisms approved by the Instructor of Record, including grading and strong supervision of college credit assignments, calibration, and quality assurance protocols.
- Utilize data on student learning and engagement to drive professional learning, instructor and student support, and continuous improvement of daily workflows.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align work with the OnRamps mission, providing exceptional customer service and timely technical support.
- Engage in special projects that support the mission and strategic direction of OnRamps.
- Travel up to 5% of the time within Texas; weekends and evenings may be required during professional learning institutes and enrollment deadlines.
- Master’s degree in History or a closely related field and five years of teaching experience at high school or college level.
- Proficiency with Canvas LMS (or another LMS).
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to engage multiple stakeholders with decorum and tact.
- Ability to communicate technical information to lay audiences in a respectful, client‑focused manner.
- Demonstrated understanding of high school teaching and learning in History courses.
- Doctoral degree in History or a closely related field.
- Experience developing curriculum for online delivery.
- Experience leading large instructional teams at scale.
- Experience developing and delivering professional‑development initiatives for high school teachers.
- Experience building and maintaining online professional learning communities for teachers and/or students.
- At least two years of teaching experience in History at the high school level.
