Job DetailsWe are seeking a young scholar specializing in Taiwan studies in either humanities or social sciences, or both. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be affiliated with the Department of Asian Studies. They will conduct substantial research on Taiwan-related topics, including Taiwan's politics, society, culture, literature, media, and diaspora. Depending on their specialty, they should actively engage in intellectual exchanges with faculty and students in Asian Studies or Government.
They will be required to give a talk on their research, present at scholarly conferences, and will teach at least one Taiwan-related course. Additional responsibilities include organizing academic activities, maintaining the Center website, and assisting the Editors-in-Chief of the Center's online journals, Taiwan Lit and Taiwan Politics, working closely with Drs. Yvonne Chang and Tse‑min Lin.
- Conduct substantial research on Taiwan-related topics, including politics, society, culture, literature, media, and diaspora.
- Teach at least one Taiwan-related course and organize academic activities.
- Maintain the Center website and assist the Editors-in-Chief of the Center's online journals.
- Engage in intellectual exchanges with faculty and students in Asian Studies or Government.
- Deliver a research talk and present at scholarly conferences.
PhD required, completed at least 15 days before the starting date and no more than three years prior to the start date.
Salary and BenefitsSalary: $54,999 per year.
