Position Overview
Adjunct Chemistry Teacher – Part Time Fixed‑Term Faculty (Institution: Riverland Community College, Austin Campus)
Core Responsibilities- Instructional planning and delivery in traditional classroom and laboratory settings
- Teaching and facilitating student learning across chemistry courses
- Curriculum planning and development aligned with college standards
- Assessment of student performance and grading
- Classroom management and student engagement strategies
- Maintenance of professional skills and credentials
- Participation in department meetings, coordination activities, and college‑wide committees
- Master’s degree with a major in chemistry OR a graduate degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits in chemistry
- Demonstrated experience in assessing student learning outcomes
- Proficiency in working cooperatively with faculty and staff
- Ongoing professional development and continuous improvement of teaching practice
- Prior teaching experience and familiarity with diverse learning styles
- Ability to incorporate technology into teaching methods, including online and distance learning platforms such as D2L
- Willingness to teach in‑person and multimodal courses
- Bilingual/multilingual fluency in any of the following languages:
Spanish, Karen, Karenni, Somali, Pohnpeian, French, Nuer, Anuak, or other languages reflecting the student body - Experience working with multicultural and underserved populations
Part‑time faculty are paid by the number of credits taught each semester. Pay per credit ranges from $775.00 to $2,396.43, depending on education and experience. Work hours vary based on student need and are part‑time.
