Job Title

Adjunct Faculty, Economics

Job Summary

The Economics program offers on‑campus, online, and dual credit student‑success courses across Central Texas. Applicants should be willing to teach on ACC campuses and dual credit classes on high school campuses. The program offers two courses:
Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and teach courses in Economics to a multicultural student population based on approved course learning outcomes and disciplinary standards.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes and departmental expectations.
  • Provide teaching and mentoring services to students without discrimination based on any protected category.
  • Remain current in the field through various professional development activities.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the department chair, dean, or higher administration.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with computer applications, online resources, and educational technology.
  • Use an online learning management system such as Blackboard Ultra to develop course content and perform administrative duties (posting office hours, syllabi, etc.).
  • Meet deadlines for attendance certification and final course grade submission.
  • Maintain regular office hours to assist students and improve retention and success.
  • Recognize and reflect standards of civility and collegiality in all interactions.
  • Comply with published college policies and professional teaching standards for community colleges.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 graduate credit hours in Economics and a master’s degree (an MBA without graduate‑level Economics coursework does not meet the requirement).
  • Education in accordance with SACSCOC accreditation standards; see faculty credentials for reference.
  • Ability to travel to different ACC campuses and area high schools.
  • Must reside in Texas for the duration of employment.
  • Deep understanding of core economics theories, methods, and applications.
  • Use of culturally relevant pedagogical approaches.
