Behavior Support/ISS
Assist in coordinating a proactive approach to establish a system of supports, including: parent participation, enrichment activities, reinforcement of positive behaviors, and supervision/oversight of student behavior support as necessary. Work under the general supervision of the principal to promote the social culture needed for all students in the school to achieve social, emotional, and academic success.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED;
Valid Texas educational aide certificate; and One of the following:
- Completion of two years of study at an institution of higher education (completion of 48 semester hours of college coursework); or
- Associate's degree or higher; or
- Meet rigorous standard of quality as demonstrated through an approved course of study for paraprofessionals (Master Teacher courses)
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to use personal computer
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Effective customer service skills
Experience:
Three years' experience as classroom aide or 30 semester hours of college credit with emphasis on child growth and development

Maintain emotional control in a multi-task environment. Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
