Description
The Academic Instructional Fellowship at the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy is a 12‑month (August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027) mentored training program designed for pharmacists who are interested in pharmacy education careers. The fellowship provides extensive classroom teaching, experiential teaching, educational research, and service experiences, with the goal of equipping fellows with the skills needed to succeed as pharmacy educators and to foster innovative teaching that advances pharmacy education and practice.
Applicants will join a faculty position as Instructor of Clinical Pharmacy while completing the fellowship. The program will customize the schedule based on the fellow’s interests and the college’s administrative needs, providing mentorship from other faculty and time with the administrative teams in experiential education, academic affairs, student affairs, business affairs, and development.
Responsibilities- Teach in the professional pharmacy program, covering required and elective courses, and mentor PharmD students.
- Serve on committees within the College of Pharmacy.
- Conduct innovative educational research and scholarship, including participation in writing working groups, developing an independent research project, and presenting a research poster at a national meeting.
- Spend time shadowing and receiving mentorship from faculty while also engaging with the administrative teams in experiential education, academic affairs, student affairs, business affairs, and development to gain a well‑rounded experience.
- Earned a Pharm.
D. degree and completed a PGY‑1 residency or equivalent practice experience. - Eligible for pharmacist licensure in Texas.
- Will hold the faculty title of Instructor in Clinical Pharmacy during training.
