Job Summary
Responsible for preparing and delivering Art Appreciation coursework for Early College High School and Dual Credit sections, using engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate methods that promote student success and belonging among a multicultural student population.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties- Prepare and teach courses in the field of Art Appreciation to a multicultural student population based on the department's approved course learning outcomes.
- Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes and departmental expectations.
- Provide teaching and mentoring services to students without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, protected veteran status, political affiliation, or other protected categories.
- Remain current in the field through professional development activities.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by department leadership.
- Demonstrate proficiency using computer applications, online resources, and teaching technologies.
- Use an online learning management system such as Blackboard to develop and build course content and perform administrative duties.
- Meet deadlines for attendance certification and submission of final course grades.
- Maintain regular office hours to assist students.
- Show civility and collegiality in all interactions.
- Comply with college policies and procedures and meet professional teaching standards.
- Use the college's learning management system appropriately.
- Educational requirements in accordance with SACSCOC accreditation standards.
- Reliable transportation to assigned campuses.
- Work is routinely performed in classroom or laboratory settings.
- Subject to standing, walking, sitting, and reaching for extended periods.
- Work safely and follow safety rules; report unsafe conditions.
- Take reasonable actions to prevent unsafe practices.
