Mariachi Instructor Position

We are seeking a fun, experienced, and professional mariachi instructor to teach part-time at our Northwest Austin location:
The Musician's Woodshed
- North Parmer. This teacher will be instructing in person at our school.

We are looking for a teacher who can start with us for the Fall 2026 school year.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience in Mariachi performance and instruction
  • Ability to teach both group mariachi classes and private one-on-one lessons
  • Strong knowledge of traditional mariachi styles, repertoire, and instrumentation
  • Ability to lead and guide ensemble rehearsals with confidence and clarity
  • Experience working with students of varying ages and skill levels
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, organized, and professional
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience directing or assisting a mariachi ensemble
  • Ability to teach one or more mariachi instruments (e.g., violin, trumpet, guitar, vihuela, guitarrón, voice)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Responsibilities:
  • Lead weekly group mariachi classes
  • Provide engaging and structured private lessons
  • Prepare students for performances, recitals, or community events
  • Foster a fun, inclusive, and educational learning environment

Instructor pay is commensurate with experience and will be in the range of $28-$32/hour. A 401(K) program with employer matching is available to all of our employees after 90 days on the job. Health benefit options are available for all part- and full-time employees at Ensemble.

Ensemble Schools is a partnership of community-driven music & dance schools that maintain individual identities but share resources to ensure their mutual success.

The Musicians Woodshed is located in Lake Travis and North Parmer, TX. At The Musicians Woodshed, our instructors design customized lesson plans for each and every student on their schedule. We focus on the student's music tastes, skill set, and personal goals to optimize a music-learning experience. Our performance-based, flexible curriculum offers an exciting, engaging and encouraging environment for students to pick up an instrument.
