Assistant Coach – Strength and Conditioning
St. Edward's University invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach – Strength and Conditioning. This position assists with the design, implementation, and oversight of strength and conditioning programs for NCAA Division II student-athletes while supporting athletic performance, injury prevention, and overall student-athlete wellness.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Sports Management, or Exercise Science.
- Minimum one year of collegiate strength and conditioning coaching experience.
- Current NSCA-CSCS or CSCCa-SCCC certification (or ability to obtain within six months).
- Current USAW Level 1 and CPR/AED certifications.
- Knowledge of NCAA Division II rules and regulations.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree Preferred.
- Additional collegiate strength and conditioning experience.
- Experience working with multiple sport programs at the NCAA Division II level.
- Familiarity with performance tracking and strength and conditioning software.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement sport-specific training programs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, athletic trainers, and administrators.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with the design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for varsity teams.
- Monitor and evaluate student-athlete performance and progress.
- Provide instruction on proper lifting techniques, conditioning methods, and wellness practices.
- Assist with daily weight room operations, equipment maintenance, and risk management procedures.
- Collaborate with coaches and athletic training staff regarding performance and injury modifications.
- Supervise student workers and interns.
- Support departmental initiatives, wellness programming, and compliance efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
