Instructional Coach, Pre-K Partnerships

United Way for Greater Austin brings our community together to break economic barriers and build opportunity for all. We break the cycle of economic hardships for families and individuals, striving to create a vibrant, thriving community. Recognizing the urgency of addressing economic challenges, we focus on increasing the availability of high-quality early care and education and access to pivotal resources to address financial barriers in Central Texas.

Our united front includes dedicated donors, volunteers, corporate and civic partners, staff, and a connected network of neighbors. Together, we leverage data, community alliances, services, and public engagement to transform Central Texas, responding to urgent needs with lasting, impactful solutions.

The Instructional Coach, Pre-K Partnerships will provide ongoing consultation and coaching to teachers in partner child development centers (CDCs) as well as support center directors to develop teacher support systems and skills. In this role, you will work closely with the Director, Pre-K Innovation Partnership and the directors of partner CDCs to identify program needs in order to develop and execute an instructional support plan that meets the individual needs of each PKP teacher and their students.

This will include but is not limited to curriculum and assessment support, coaching on evidence-based instructional strategies, and coordinating with community organizations to deliver quality training and resources to partner CDCs. In this role, you will develop coaching cycles and professional learning opportunities that meet the needs of centers and are aligned to state and childcare requirements. You will assist with teacher recruitment efforts.

This position will report directly to the Sr. Manager, Pre-K Partnerships.

You have a strong bottom-line orientation. You persist in accomplishing objectives despite obstacles and setbacks and have a track record of exceeding goals successfully. You push yourself and help others achieve results.

You work cooperatively with all departments across the organization to achieve shared objectives and represent their interests while being fair to others and their area. You partner with others to get work done and credit others for their contributions and accomplishments — you garner the trust and support of others.

You marshal resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done. You orchestrate multiple activities simultaneously to accomplish a goal and get the most out of limited resources. You apply knowledge of internal structures, processes, and culture to resourcing efforts.

You pick up on situational cues and adjust. You readily adapt personal, interpersonal, and leadership behavior. You understand that different situations may call for different approaches and can act differently depending on the circumstances.

You relate comfortably with people across levels, functions, cultures, and geography and act diplomatically and tactfully. You build a rapport in an open, friendly, and accepting way and develop constructive relationships with people similar and different to yourself.

You are confident under pressure and maintain a positive attitude despite adversity. You manage crises effectively, bounce back from setbacks, and grow from your hardships and negative experiences.

You anticipate future trends and implications accurately and readily pose future scenarios. You articulate credible pictures and visions of possibilities to create sustainable value and develop competitive and breakthrough strategies that clearly connect vision and action.

You set objectives to align with broader organizational goals and break objectives down into appropriate initiatives and actions. You stage activities with relevant milestones and schedules and anticipate and adjust effective contingency plans.
