Eligibility and Application Instructions
Appointments are made on a term‑by‑term basis.
Adjunct faculty are required to complete the online Canvas LMS orientation course before being scheduled, as well as other training required by the department.
Online instructors must provide evidence of successful teaching experience at an accredited college or university before they will be considered.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in the discipline in which you wish to teach.
- Evidence of professional experience or graduate coursework that pertains to the core learning outcomes.
- Instructor Training Certification (ITC) for CCNA Cybersecurity Operation – mandatory.
- Masters or Ph.D. level degree in CS, IS, or a related discipline (MBA, etc.) from an accredited school.
- Graduate credit with a grade of B or better in the course applied to teach, or one year of work experience in the subject material of the course applied to teach.
- For most postings a Ph.D. or other terminal degree is preferred.
- Describe the role of the Cyber security Operations Analyst in the enterprise.
- Analyze the operation of network infrastructures, protocols and services.
- Demonstrate various types of network attacks.
- Practice various methods to identify, monitor, prevent, respond and analyze attacks to computer networks, hosts, and data.
This course will focus on the principles, knowledge, skills, and tools for secure operations of computers, networks, and information technology systems. Topics include security concepts, cryptography, attack methods, security monitoring, incident response, handling and analysis. The course will contain various hands‑on security labs and follows concepts recommended by Cisco for the Cisco Certified Cyber Ops Associate (CBROPS) certification. Due to the dynamic nature of the web environment, course content will change as appropriate.
