Appointments are generally made on a semester‑by‑semester basis. Positions are renewable, contingent upon need and performance.

  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Mathematics is required. An advanced degree in mathematics education or a related field will be considered if the application clearly documents at least 18 graduate credit hours in graduate‑level mathematics courses. This requirement may be waived for adjuncts teaching only corequisite math support classes.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in classroom teaching.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Facility in online communication via email, learning management systems, and online homework platforms.
  • Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal history background check required.
Responsibilities

This entails following a common syllabus, utilizing online homework (My Open Math , My Math Lab , or ALEKS) and learning management systems (Canvas), holding at least one on‑campus office hour per week per section, and keeping in contact with the course coordinator, primarily by email, for common assignments and exams.

Class size is generally 24‑30 students; (current as of Fall 2024) per 3‑credit course section.
