About This Role
We are seeking a dedicated, creative, and student-centered Grade 2 Teacher to join our elementary team. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, understands whole-child development, and creates an engaging, inclusive classroom where all learners thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Position OverviewThe Grade 2 Teacher will be responsible for delivering instruction aligned with state standards, fostering a positive classroom culture, and supporting the developmental needs of 7–8.5-year-old learners. This educator will use differentiated (Reggio focused) instruction and hands‑on learning to ensure student growth and success.
What You’ll DoKey Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned for reading, writing, math, science, and social studies
- Create a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment
- Use assessments to guide instruction
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) into daily routines
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
- Collaborate with grade‑level team members and specialists
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance
- Support positive behavior systems and classroom expectations
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (required)
- Valid teaching certification for Elementary Education (or eligibility to obtain) highly preferred
- Experience teaching early elementary grades preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for child‑centered, inquiry‑based learning
- Commitment to fostering equity, inclusion, and student well‑being
- Experience with Reggio Emilia, project-based learning, or Waldorf/Montessori-inspired approaches
- Familiarity with SEL frameworks and trauma‑informed practices
- Strong collaboration and team teaching mindset
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
