Position: Grade 2 Lead Teacher for Outdoor focused School

About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated, creative, and student-centered Grade 2 Teacher to join our elementary team. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, understands whole-child development, and creates an engaging, inclusive classroom where all learners thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Position Overview

The Grade 2 Teacher will be responsible for delivering instruction aligned with state standards, fostering a positive classroom culture, and supporting the developmental needs of 7–8.5-year-old learners. This educator will use differentiated (Reggio focused) instruction and hands‑on learning to ensure student growth and success.

What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned for reading, writing, math, science, and social studies
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment
  • Use assessments to guide instruction
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) into daily routines
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
  • Collaborate with grade‑level team members and specialists
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance
  • Support positive behavior systems and classroom expectations
Requirements Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (required)
  • Valid teaching certification for Elementary Education (or eligibility to obtain) highly preferred
  • Experience teaching early elementary grades preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Passion for child‑centered, inquiry‑based learning
  • Commitment to fostering equity, inclusion, and student well‑being
Nice to Have Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Reggio Emilia, project-based learning, or Waldorf/Montessori-inspired approaches
  • Familiarity with SEL frameworks and trauma‑informed practices
  • Strong collaboration and team teaching mindset
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
