Adjunct Faculty: Social Work

Overview

Career opportunities with Bunker Hill Community College. This is a faculty position in the Social Work Department within the Behavioral, Social Sciences and Global Learning Division.

The department offers courses including Introduction to Social Work, Human Behavior in the Social Environment, Equity and Cultural Wealth in Social Work Practice, Social Welfare Policy and Practice, and Interviewing and Documentation in Social Work. Courses may be offered at BHCC campuses, satellite campuses, partner sites, or instructional sites, including Charlestown, Chelsea, PAO Center, and Children's Services of Roxbury (CSR).

• Teach courses in the Social Work Department as listed above and in related subjects as assigned.
• Engage with a diverse student population and support student success through culturally responsive pedagogy.
• Be available to teach at Charlestown, Chelsea, PAO Center, and Children's Services of Roxbury as needed.

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Social Work or related field. Evidence of engagement in culturally responsive pedagogies.
• Experience with high-impact teaching and learning practices (e.g., undergraduate research, community engagement, critical pedagogies, learning communities).
• Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.
• Must be available to teach at Charlestown, Chelsea, PAO Center, and Children's Services of Roxbury as needed.
• We are seeking faculty to teach one or more of the following courses:
  Introduction to Social Work, Human Behavior in the Social Environment, Equity and Cultural Wealth in Social Work Practice, Social Welfare Policy and Practice, and Interviewing and Documentation in Social Work.

• License in Social Work preferred.
• Community college teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to read, speak, and write in Spanish or other languages is preferred, as BHCC serves students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

• Salary: $1,512 per credit hour
