Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Structured Literacy Teacher, GT School - $100,000/year USD

Located on‑site at Georgetown (Austin), TX, this full‑time position offers $100,000 per year, comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage beginning day one, relocation assistance, and requires certification in structured reading instruction (Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson, CERI, LETRS, or equivalent).

The greatest support you can offer a gifted six‑year‑old performing at grade level is to refuse to settle for it. If you carry a structured literacy credential and have witnessed firsthand how systematic phonics transforms emerging readers, consider the outcomes when you deploy those same techniques with children who aren't remedial—they're simply unchallenged. The result isn't modest improvement. It's 5–10x acceleration.

ool, your complete training is finally put to use. No prescribed basal programs. No mandated district pacing. You facilitate small‑group early literacy sessions for gifted students aged 5–8, conduct running records, assemble your own differentiated cohorts, and build each lesson directly from assessment data. Adaptive platforms manage content progression. Your role is what no algorithm can replicate: guiding a small group of exceptionally capable children to surpass benchmarks they weren't expected to reach this academic year.

What

You Will Be Doing
  • Facilitating small‑group phonics instruction for gifted K–2 learners, designing every lesson from live student data rather than scripted materials
  • Conducting running records, evaluating reading proficiency, and organizing differentiated instructional cohorts based on assessment outcomes
  • Delivering 1:1 and small‑group coaching sessions that leverage school currency, performance leaderboards, and personal rapport to motivate ambitious goals in adaptive platforms
  • Monitoring live student performance within adaptive software and adjusting instruction in response to emerging data
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Delivering whole‑class lectures. Learning occurs through self‑directed adaptive applications, not traditional passive instruction
  • Overseeing large classrooms of 25+ students. Your focus is small cohorts of gifted children
  • Adhering to district scope‑and‑sequence documents or preparing students for standardized assessments
  • Teaching content areas outside literacy (math, science, and social studies are not part of this role)
  • Drafting IEPs, attending committee meetings, or managing school district administrative processes
Structured Literacy Teacher

Key Responsibilities

Drive gifted K–2 students to achieve multiple years of reading growth in a condensed timeframe by combining adaptive technology with precision phonics instruction.

Basic Requirements
  • Master's degree in reading instruction OR formal reading certification (Orton‑Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, CERI, LETRS, or equivalent). Completion of Science of Reading coursework alone does not satisfy this requirement.
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Minimum 2 years providing small‑group early literacy instruction to students in grades K–2
  • Demonstrated ability to assess reading levels, organize instructional groups, and create differentiated lessons independent of pre‑packaged curricula
  • Direct experience teaching gifted or high‑ability students (through gifted & talented programs, academic enrichment camps, or specialized schools)
  • Proficiency interpreting student performance data and using AI/adaptive learning platforms
  • Available to work on‑site at the GT campus in Georgetown (Austin), TX. Relocation assistance is provided.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
Nice‑to‑have Requirements
  • Advanced Orton‑Gillingham or multisensory structured literacy training extending beyond foundational certification
  • Familiarity with adaptive reading platforms such as Lexia, Raz‑Kids, or comparable K–2 tools
  • Documented success coaching students performing well above their assigned grade level
