Title:
CE Workforce Program Associate III (Hourly)
Summary:
CE Workforce Program Associates are responsible for vocational and academic instruction in a variety of fields and topics. They play a pivotal role in creating an environment where students are treated with respect, encouragement, and integrity. In addition to teaching, associates attend trainings, development days, staff meetings, and assist students as needed.
- Work with students who are taking classes to improve their knowledge or career skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop or modify the curriculum for degree or certificate programs.
- Assess students’ progress by grading assignments, papers, exams, and other work.
- Advise students on course selection and goal achievement.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Establish and enforce clear rules for behavior and procedures to maintain an environment conducive to learning.
- Meet with students to discuss progress and determine priorities and individualized educational needs.
- Meet with students outside class hours as needed.
- Participate in staff development activities, curriculum development meetings, and other professional opportunities to maintain professional competence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, understanding, and valuing contributions.
- Proficiency in using spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and reliable transportation for local Austin area travel.
- Ability to work scheduled hours, including some evenings and weekends.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, push, pull, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
