JOB DESCRIPTION Magellan International School (MIS) is hiring Substitute Teachers. Substitutes may work across Preschool, Primary, or Secondary campuses. Assignments vary from covering Lead Teachers or Specialists to supporting as Teaching Assistants.

• Assist teachers and teaching assistants with classroom activities, lesson implementation, and preparation of materials and displays.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization, helping to ensure a smooth flow of daily routines.
• Supervise students independently when needed, including during lessons, lunch, recess, and carline (drop-off and pick-up).
• Enforce classroom rules, manage student behavior, and provide general care and supervision to individuals and groups.
• Support school operations by helping with clerical tasks, distributing supplies, and occasionally covering the front desk.
• Follow schedules, adapt to varying classroom needs, and carry out assigned tasks with minimal direction.
• Ensure student safety at all times by observing carefully, following health and safety protocols, and using good judgment.
• Participate in school trainings, meetings, and events to support professional growth and contribute to the school community.
• Foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families, reflecting the school’s mission and values.

Performs other duties as assigned, which may change at any time with or without notice.

• A minimum of an Associate s Degree in Education, and/or related experience or any equivalent combination of related education and experience.
• Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
• Experience working with children in a school setting
• Basic computer skills

Salary is a daily rate. This position is on-call, as needed and is not eligible for benefits.

This position is on-call, as needed. Availability between the hours: 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Availability during occasional nights and weekend events.

This position operates in both indoor and outdoor settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, and activity spaces. Noise levels may vary from moderate to high during active learning, recess, and group activities. The role requires physical activity, including standing, bending, lifting, stooping, and actively engaging with children throughout the day.

A criminal history background check will be required for the finalist(s) under consideration for this position. If hired, you will be required to complete the federal Employment Eligibility Verification form, I-9, and present acceptable and original documents to prove your identity and authorization to work in the United States.
