Elementary Language Arts Teacher – Paragon Prep

About the Role

As an Elementary Language Arts Teacher at Paragon Prep, you will provide engaging and rigorous English Language Arts instruction to fourth- and fifth-grade students. You will plan and deliver comprehensive lessons that strengthen students’ reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, communication, and critical-thinking skills.

You will be responsible for creating an organized, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating classroom in which students feel supported and challenged. The ideal candidate is a passionate educator who builds meaningful relationships with students, makes learning accessible and relevant, and inspires a lasting appreciation for reading, writing, and effective communication.

You will also:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned English Language Arts instruction for fourth- and fifth-grade students.
  • Present lessons using varied instructional strategies and visual, audio, digital, and hands-on resources to facilitate learning.
  • Differentiate instruction to address students’ individual strengths, learning needs, and academic progress.
  • Create and distribute instructional materials, including lesson resources, assignments, assessments, and supplemental content.
  • Assess and document student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback, grades, and academic support.
  • Use student-performance data to inform instruction, intervention, and enrichment.
  • Cultivate students’ abilities in reading comprehension, literary analysis, written expression, grammar, vocabulary, speaking, and listening.
  • Establish clear classroom expectations and maintain a safe, organized, respectful, and productive learning environment.
  • Encourage student curiosity, independence, creativity, collaboration, and confidence.
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with families regarding student progress, classroom expectations, and areas for continued development.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, specialists, school leadership, families, and other stakeholders to support student success.
  • Plan and participate in classroom activities, school events, field trips, and other educational experiences.
  • Monitor student behavior and well-being and follow all applicable school policies and mandated-reporting requirements.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, parent conferences, professional development, training, and other school-related activities.
  • Maintain accurate academic, attendance, and classroom records.
  • Remain current on instructional best practices and continually strengthen professional knowledge and teaching effectiveness.
  • Follow all school policies, educational guidelines, safety procedures, and professional expectations.
