Senior Associate Director of Admissions/Central Texas Recruitment

The Senior Associate Director of Admissions/Central Texas Recruitment is responsible for organizing and executing a robust and effective enrollment strategy within their assigned territories. This staff member oversees and attends recruitment events occurring in Central Texas. To be successful, this regional representative must possess a set of interpersonal and organizational skills to effectively collaborate with varying audiences while managing the territories of Austin and surrounding areas.

This is a full-time remote position located in the greater Austin, Texas region.

Job Duties

  • Manages Central Texas recruitment territory. Represents Trinity by visiting high schools, attending college fairs, conducting college search and case studies workshops, conducting interviews and helping organize receptions. Develops and implements recruitment plans for Central Texas.
  • Conducts individual interviews and information sessions for prospective students and their parents during campus visits or travel. Maintains regular contact with prospective students and families throughout the college search process.
  • Evaluates and presents admission applications. Serves on the admission committee to help finalize admissions decisions.
  • Manages data through Trinity CRM to inform territory enrollment funnels and to help achieve individual recruitment goals. Reports statistical outcomes and trends to measure success on programs, travel and recruitment efforts. Develops recruitment strategies and manages recruitment territories. Reports statistical data on programs, projects, committee initiatives and travel activities.
  • Collaborates with admissions staff members and incorporates constituency groups (current students, current parents, alumni, faculty and staff) to achieve enrollment objectives. Assists coaches and faculty members in recruiting students with special talent (student athletes, fine arts, debate).
  • Travels to campuses for training sessions and selected admissions events, as requested.

Additional Duties

  • Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience and integrity to provide professional leadership.
  • Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education

Required:

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.

Experience

Required:

Six years of experience in the admissions profession.

Preferred:

  • Experience in Admissions within a liberal arts institution.
  • Familiarity with secondary schools in the greater Austin area.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required:

  • Ability to quickly learn the university, as well as admissions and financial aid procedures and policies and accurately present information to prospective students, parents and high school counselors.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently to meet job requirements, as well as working collaboratively with Trinity colleagues to meet enrollment goals.
  • Knowledge of admissions and the Central Texas market, including sociodemographic, higher education, secondary schools and recruitment opportunities.
  • Strong critical reasoning and analytical skills, particularly as it pertains to developing recruitment strategies, managing the Central Texas territory, and evaluating applications.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to persuasively articulate the value of Trinity's liberal arts education to various constituencies.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to create and develop programs promoting Trinity to various constituencies.
  • Strong technical skills and the ability to learn Slate and Colleague.
  • Ability to lift boxes and literature cases with supplies.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to build and foster strong relationships among a variety of constituency groups.

Preferred:

General knowledge of Austin/Central Texas markets.

Licenses/Certifications

Required:

Valid US driver's license and ability and willingness to drive a vehicle.

Other Requirements

Willingness to travel and work evening and weekend hours to meet job requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities

No supervisory responsibility.

Work where procedures are of varied or diversified nature.

Budget Responsibility

Accountable for rendering counsel and advice regarding the development of the department budget.

Financial Responsibility

Less than $250,000
