At TX-STAR Speech Language Services, we partner with school districts across Texas to support students with diverse learning needs. We are currently hiring Dyslexia Therapists/Teachers for school-based opportunities in the Austin area.

This role is ideal for educators who are passionate about literacy development and supporting students with dyslexia through structured, evidence-based instruction.

What You’ll Do

As a Dyslexia Therapist/Teacher, you will provide targeted intervention to help students build essential reading and language skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver dyslexia intervention services using the Read by Design program
  • Provide small group or one-on-one instruction in reading, decoding, fluency, comprehension, and spelling
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data
  • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation of services and progress
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
  • Participate in ARD/IEP/504 meetings and contribute recommendations
  • Ensure instruction and accommodations align with student plans and district guidelines
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or related field
  • Certification as a Dyslexia Therapist/Teacher or valid teaching certification
  • Experience implementing the Read by Design program
  • Knowledge of evidence-based literacy interventions and dyslexia identification
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload and work independently
