As a Middle School English Teacher at Paragon Prep, you will prepare and implement an engaging instructional program that helps students become thoughtful readers, effective writers, articulate communicators, and confident critical thinkers. This role is ideal for a committed educator who can create a classroom environment built on curiosity, structure, respectful discussion, and meaningful academic challenge.
You will guide students through the study of literature, informational texts, composition, grammar, vocabulary, research, and oral communication. The ideal candidate is organized, creative, energetic, and passionate about helping middle school students analyze complex ideas, express themselves clearly, and develop a lasting appreciation for language and literature.
You will also:- Plan, prepare, and deliver comprehensive English Language Arts lessons aligned with middle school learning objectives.
- Use visual, audio, digital, interactive, discussion-based, and project-based instructional methods to make learning meaningful and accessible.
- Provide individualized and differentiated instruction that addresses students’ academic strengths, learning needs, and developmental levels.
- Create and distribute age-appropriate instructional content, including reading materials, notes, assignments, writing prompts, assessments, and projects.
- Guide students in analyzing literary and informational texts, identifying themes, evaluating evidence, and interpreting an author’s purpose and perspective.
- Develop students’ skills in narrative, informative, analytical, argumentative, and research-based writing.
- Strengthen students’ command of grammar, vocabulary, spelling, sentence structure, and written conventions.
- Facilitate purposeful classroom discussions that promote active listening, respectful dialogue, collaboration, and evidence-based reasoning.
- Assess and document student progress and provide timely grades, constructive feedback, and academic support.
- Use student-performance data to inform instruction, intervention, and enrichment.
- Maintain a safe, organized, respectful, and academically focused classroom environment.
- Build positive relationships with students based on mutual trust, accountability, encouragement, and high expectations.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with families regarding student progress, classroom expectations, and opportunities for continued development.
