Hey Crafts is a mobile children's art & crafts education service. We bring hands-on, project-based art classes to kids at local venues — community centers, schools, and partner spaces across the Round Rock, Cedar Park, and Austin area. Our classes are playful, creative, and built to help kids create, grow, and shine.

We re looking for a warm, energetic instructor to lead small-group art & crafts classes for children (roughly ages 5–12). You ll teach pre-planned lessons using our curriculum and supplies — no lesson prep or shopping required. We hand you everything you need; you bring the fun, structure, and encouragement.

Classes run primarily on weekend mornings and weekday after-school hours at partner venues. This is a flexible, per-class role — great for a teacher, artist, camp counselor, or childcare pro who wants meaningful part-time work.

• Lead engaging art & crafts lessons for small groups (about 8+ kids) following the Hey Crafts curriculum
• Set up the classroom before each session and leave the space clean and organized (venues trust us to respect their space)
• Create a safe, positive, encouraging environment and manage the group with kindness and confidence
• Adapt projects on the fly for different ages and skill levels
• Greet parents warmly at drop-off and pickup and represent the Hey Crafts brand professionally

• Experience working with children — teaching, tutoring, camp, childcare, coaching, or art instruction
• Enthusiasm for art and crafts (you don t need to be a professional artist — just creative and hands-on)
• Reliable, punctual, and organized, with strong, positive classroom management
• Friendly and personable with both kids and parents
• Reliable transportation to local venues and able to carry supply bins (~25 lbs) and set up tables
• Must pass a background check

Nice to have: CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to get it), bilingual (English/Spanish), prior classroom or kids art experience.

• Type: Independent contractor (1099), part-time / per class
• Location: Mobile — partner venues around Round Rock, Cedar Park, and North Austin (this is an in-person role, not remote)
• Schedule: Primarily weekend mornings and after-school; flexible, based on class bookings
• Compensation: Competitive per-class rate — to be discussed during the interview

• Candidates should possess a commitment to child safety, including willingness to complete background checks and follow safeguarding policies.
• Previous experience teaching or leading children’s activities in educational or recreational settings is preferred.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in Art, Education, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is beneficial.
• Reliable transportation within the Austin area and flexibility to work after-school and occasional weekend hours are beneficial.
