St. Edward's University is seeking an Associate Athletic Trainer / Instructor to join our Athletics Department and Kinesiology faculty. Working alongside the Head Athletic Trainer, you will coordinate comprehensive medical care for student-athletes-from injury prevention to rehabilitation-while teaching one course per term (3 contact hours) in the Department of Kinesiology.
Qualifications Required- Master's degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or a related field.
- BOC Certified, Texas State Licensure (or eligibility), and CPR/AED/First Aid certified.
- 3-5 years of athletic training experience.
- Knowledge of NCAA Division II rules/best practices, EMR software proficiency, and excellent communication.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (mornings, evenings, weekends, and team travel).
- 2+ years of collegiate athletic training experience.
- Previous teaching or instructional experience.
- Experience supervising athletic training students or interns.
- Supervise prevention, evaluation, treatment, short/long-term rehabilitation, and return-to-play decisions for assigned teams.
- Manage daily athletic training facility operations, coordinate pre-participation physicals, schedule physician referrals, and oversee NCAA drug testing compliance.
- Instruct 3 contact hours per term (fall and spring) in the Kinesiology Department.
- Supervise assistant athletic trainers and student interns, maintain confidential EMR records, and support departmental administration.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics and/or the Assistant AD for Internal Operations.
