Full-Time, Exempt

Summary – to perform a variety of functions within the school library in the operations of the library including but not limited to assisting teachers and students in the full use of library services.

• Independently manage the assigned library under the direction of the Director of Academic Advancement.
• Operate specialized computer system for circulating media center materials.
• Assist students with instructional tasks.
• Assist and instruct students with book selection, charge and discharge books.
• Assist students with the location and use of library materials.
• Assist teachers with the selection of library materials needed for classroom instruction
• Control status of books in circulation, including overdue books.
• Generate reports
• Properly shelve and inventory books and other library materials
• Label and mend books.
• Maintain records.
• Encourage literacy through read-alouds to classes and other special events
• Train students to be effective and ethical users of information
• Establish policies and procedures that emphasize a Christ-centered learning environment and ensure appropriate use of library resources
• Other duties as assigned.

• Certified classroom teacher and/or have a Master’s of Library Science
• An active member in a Church of Christ congregation

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other educational software
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
• Must be able to crouch, kneel, bend and stoop
