Purpose

The purpose of this position is to effectively recruit and enroll enthusiastic undergraduate students to the programs in the College of Liberal Arts.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as an active and engaged staff member in the Office of Student Engagement and College of Liberal Arts.
  • Develop and manage assigned office procedures and records, ensuring data integrity.
  • Provide assessment for assigned programs.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Facilitate applications to and enrollment in the College of Liberal Arts and build relationships with prospective students by communicating with and engaging prospective students throughout the college selection, admission, and enrollment processes on an individual basis via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
  • Conduct presentations and tours on the undergraduate experience, outcomes, and admissions processes for the College of Liberal Arts.
  • Facilitate weekly COLA general information sessions both in person and virtually.
  • Meet individually with prospective students and families at the request of the President’s Office and Development Office.
  • Schedule office hours for guests/visitors to UT Austin that have also expressed interest in learning more about COLA.
  • Utilize the client-relationship-management (CRM) database to manage engagement with prospective undergraduate students throughout the college search and enrollment processes.
  • Develop and coordinate recruitment and yield programs specific to the College of Liberal Arts, including but not limited to on-campus events, individual and group visits, and off-campus programs.
  • Determine the appropriate audience, schedule, agenda, and venue.
  • Secure space and arrange for A/V and custodial support.
  • Coordinate event-related marketing, communications, and registration.
  • Coordinate the participation of faculty, students, and staff as needed.
  • Monitor projected and actual expenditures in accordance with budget allocations.
  • Partner with UT Office of Admissions on outreach, recruitment, and yield events including, but not limited to, Texas Preview days, LEAD, Hooked on College, and Future Longhorn Dinners.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communication and COLA Public Affairs to to create promotional materials such as brochures, emails, and videos.
  • Engage prospective students, families, schools, high school counselors, and community-based organizations (CBOs) using printed materials, email, social media, and departmental websites.
  • Communicate with high school admissions counselors about COLA majors, minors, and opportunities; promote the value of a liberal arts education to high school counselors and prospective students and families.
  • Collaborate with COLA Leadership and Office of Admissions to establish the College of Liberal Arts’ undergraduate enrollment priorities.
  • In conjunction with Department Chairs and COLA administrators, develop strategies for increasing interest and enrollment in academic programs housed in the College.
