The teacher will implement an appropriate educational curriculum based on the Japanese NCSSFL-ACTFL (National Standards for 21st Century Language Learning – American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) Can‑Do Statements and the course pacing guides provided by the district. The teacher will create and maintain an educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning. This person will report directly to the Vice Principals at Proximity Learning and may be placed into an active teacher pool.

• Administer curriculum aligned with NCSSFL‑ACTFL for Japanese.
• Differentiate instruction and supplement content to meet the needs of all students.
• Create and maintain a positive, engaging virtual learning environment.
• Develop and implement effective Japanese lesson components.
• Analyze student progress, maintain grading and lesson planning, and provide timely feedback.
• Participate in professional development, PLCs, department meetings, and other job‑related duties.
• Maintain a professional on‑screen appearance following PLI dress code.
• Adhere to PLI virtual classroom expectations: arrive 5 minutes prior, camera/microphone on during live class.

• Demonstrate knowledge, skill, and ability to provide instruction in a virtual classroom.
• Work cooperatively with students, colleagues, and company management.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, assignments, and projects.
• Employ varied instructional techniques aligned with objectives.
• Actively participate with other faculty.
• Maintain accurate and complete records as per company policy.
• Maintain and improve professional competence.
• Communicate effectively; reply to all communications within 24 hours.
• Submit to monthly observations and implement feedback for growth.
• Follow policies in PLI Teacher Handbook.

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Teaching license issued by a state Department of Education in the United States.
• Certified in the relevant subject area(s).
• Open to obtaining additional out‑of‑state certifications based on class offerings.

• Internet:
  Consumer‑grade Wi‑Fi or wired connection with speeds 15 MBPS download and 5 MBPS upload (verified via ).
• Computer:
  Processor 1.5 GHz single core or higher, 4 GB RAM, Windows 7/8/8.1/10 or Mac 2014 or newer (no Chromebooks).
