Faculty Success And Instructional Design Manager

Classavo is an education technology company helping professors create, deliver, and improve engaging digital course experiences.

We're growing quickly and looking for an Instructional Designer / Faculty Success professional who can become a trusted partner to the professors we serve.

This is not a traditional behind-the-scenes instructional design role. You'll work directly with professors throughout their Classavo journey, from helping them envision what's possible during the evaluation process to designing and launching their course, training them on the platform, and ensuring they're successful throughout the semester.

What You'll Do

You'll work closely with professors, our sales team, and the broader Classavo team to:

  • Participate in discovery conversations and product demonstrations with professors.
  • Understand how professors teach today, what they're trying to accomplish, and where Classavo can help.
  • Help professors translate their existing course content and teaching approach into Classavo.
  • Lead professor onboarding, course setup, instructional design, and training.
  • Guide professors through the steps required to successfully launch their courses.
  • Proactively manage implementation timelines, commitments, and potential roadblocks.
  • Support professors after launch and help drive successful adoption.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and expand successful Classavo courses.
  • Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with the Classavo team when additional support is needed.
  • Take ownership of professor success from initial engagement through successful adoption.
Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who understands the education world, is comfortable with technology, and isn't afraid to be a trailblazer — someone excited to try new approaches and help educators rethink how they create and deliver their courses.

Experience in instructional design combined with sales, customer success, implementation, or another customer-facing role is ideal. Most importantly, you need to be comfortable working directly with educators, learning new technology, making recommendations, and helping people make decisions and move forward.

We're especially interested in people who have:

  • A strong understanding of education culture and how educators think, work, and make decisions.
  • A willingness to try new things, challenge traditional approaches, and help shape how Classavo works with faculty.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience working with software or technology; experience with LMS platforms or EdTech is a plus.
  • Experience in instructional design, curriculum, or learning design is a plus.
  • Experience in sales, customer success, implementation, training, or another customer-facing role is a plus.
  • Classroom teaching experience, whether K–12 or higher education, is a plus.
  • The ability to learn new technology quickly, explain it simply, and help educators feel confident using it.
  • A desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment where you'll have the opportunity to help build the process, not just follow one.
The Characteristics That Matter Most

Experience matters, but how you work matters just as much.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Takes ownership. You view professor adoption and success as your responsibility and don't wait for someone else to solve problems.
  • Has exceptional follow-through. You can manage multiple professors, deadlines, and commitments without dropping balls.
  • Is hands-on. You enjoy executing, not just advising. Some of the work required to successfully launch a course is detailed and unglamorous, and you're willing to do it.
  • Can teach. You make complicated things feel simple and don't overwhelm people with technology.
  • Can lead. You're comfortable telling a professor, respectfully, what you recommend they do next rather than simply taking orders.
  • Is coachable. You welcome feedback and can quickly turn it into changed behavior.
  • Is smart and technology-capable. You learn software quickly, troubleshoot effectively, and don't need everything explained multiple times.
  • Is humble and curious. You ask questions before jumping to solutions and bring…
