Full Time Assistant Infant Teacher

At The Child Development Center, we are searching for a loving, energetic, and dedicated assistant infant teacher to join our team.

We are a NAEYC-accredited preschool located in Southwest Austin. As an established non-profit preschool, our primary focus is on children, families, and staff. We serve children infants
- Pre-K.

As part of our commitment to our teachers, we provide:

Duties Include:

  • Collaborating with Lead Teacher to implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum that follows the standards for the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
  • Collaborate with Lead Teacher regarding assessments, classroom materials, and specific child skill development
  • Supporting children’s learning by implementing the lesson plan
  • Communicating with families both verbally and in writing
  • Building positive relationships with parents and coworkers
  • Serve as positive role model for all the children
  • Encourage language development through developmentally appropriate activities, songs, questions, books, and other means
  • Active engagement with students and participation in classroom activities at all times
  • Maintaining an organized and clean classroom environment conducive to play-based learning

Qualifications:

  • Required ~ High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred ~ Associate's or CDA
  • Previous infant experience preferred
  • Candidates must meet all Texas DFPS requirements and must pass a background check
  • Must be able to lift/carry 30+ pounds
  • Must be able to be on your feet for long periods of time
  • General computer proficiency
