Circle C Child Development Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Education Director to join our leadership team. We are a NAEYC-accredited preschool serving children from infancy through age 5, and we are looking for a strong education leader who is passionate about early childhood education and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The Assistant Education Director works closely with the Education Director to manage the day-to-day operations of the Education Department, support and develop teaching staff, maintain classroom quality, and ensure our program consistently meets our high standards for children, families, and educators.
What You'll Do Lead & Support Teachers- Conduct daily classroom walkthroughs and check-ins, providing real-time coaching, feedback, and guidance to teachers
- Observe classrooms throughout the day and support teachers in strengthening their classroom practices
- Coach teachers on developmentally appropriate practices, play-based learning, classroom management, and professional communication
- Address and manage teacher performance concerns, including professionalism, punctuality, and attendance
- Review and provide feedback on lesson plans and support the consistent implementation of curriculum
- Ensure student assessments are completed accurately and on time
- Provide hands-on support in classrooms and assist with behavioral and developmental concerns
- Help welcome and transition new students and families into the program
- Serve as a liaison between teachers and parents, including responding to emails and phone calls
- Assist with the management of child injuries and illnesses
- Model appropriate, professional communication and interactions with children and families
- Coordinate and facilitate staff professional development, including whole-group training and hands-on workshops
- Track and assign required training hours for teaching staff
- Assist with planning and leading staff meetings
- Participate in teacher interviews and hiring decisions
- Support new teacher onboarding, orientation, and provisional-period reviews
- Assist with annual performance reviews and provide meaningful feedback to teachers
- Facilitate team meetings and support staff collaboration
- Collaborate with the HR Director and Education Director on staffing needs
- Help coordinate daily classroom staffing and coverage
- Step into classrooms when needed to provide teacher coverage and maintain appropriate ratios
- Help improve and streamline school-wide procedures and systems
- Coordinate and supervise student observers and interns
- Manage inventory of educational resources, furniture, and equipment
- Support resource and supply requests
- Assist with coordinating therapy sessions and other student services
- Help ensure ongoing compliance with Texas childcare licensing requirements
- Support the implementation and maintenance of NAEYC accreditation standards across classrooms and staff
- Support other quality initiatives and program standards, including Texas Rising Star
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow established school policies and procedures
- Monitor and respond to communications through Procare
- Review and approve daily activities and communications in Procare
- Review lesson plans and follow up with teachers as needed
- Maintain training and staff documentation
- Assist with teacher evaluations and performance reviews
- Make candidate calls and assist with reference checks
- Help manage daily administrative tasks and follow-up
