Job Description Summary

Provide engaging instruction and academic support to Career Pathways students enrolled in workforce training or credit courses and teach Internationally Trained Professionals (ITP) classes. Instruction focuses on strengthening academic and English language skills, reinforcing course content and technical vocabulary, and preparing students for college and workplace expectations. Responsible to prepare and deliver coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to student success and creating an environment that promotes belonging for all.

This position starts in January 2027. Instruction will be delivered in person at designated ACC regions-Central, North, and South campuses and online, as assigned. Faculty must meet all professional standards in accordance with college policies and procedures. Nights and weekends are required.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties
  • Prepare and teach Career Pathways support courses and Internationally Trained Professionals (ITP) classes using in-person, hybrid, and online delivery aligned with approved learning outcomes.
  • Provide instruction that strengthens academic skills, English language proficiency, technical vocabulary, study strategies, and workplace readiness to support students enrolled in workforce training or credit courses.
  • Apply effective teaching practices and classroom management strategies to create a positive, accessible, and culturally responsive learning environment that promotes student engagement and retention.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback aligned with course learning outcomes and departmental expectations.
  • Participate in departmental responsibilities and governance, including curriculum development and revision, program review, and assessment of course and program learning outcomes.
  • Design, review, and refine Career Pathways and ITP curriculum that connect instruction to students' training, academic, and career goals.
  • Collaborate with training and credit faculty to align instructional support with course content, assignments, technical terminology, and student learning needs.
  • Evaluate instructional effectiveness and use student performance data to improve teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with intake, advising, and program teams to support student assessment, placement, enrollment, progress testing, and access to appropriate resources.
  • Support and mentor new Career Pathways faculty and share effective instructional practices with colleagues.
  • Provide accessible, individualized academic and language support, including one-on-one assistance.
  • Maintain accurate and timely attendance records, grades, and Blackboard course materials.
  • Collaborate with program leaders, faculty, and coordinators to promote course completion and successful transitions into further education, training, and employment.
