Deliver career advising and program service delivery that supports student career planning needs with results of high satisfaction. Serve as the Eastin Center's liaison to academic departments and student groups.
Oversee the office communication efforts to foster meaningful connections with students and stakeholders through regular promotion of career-related events, employment opportunities, and services. Manage for-credit internship enrollment and ensure timely student progress toward the completion of curricular requirements. Assist the Associate Director with the development, planning, and execution of curricular and co-curricular career education. Facilitate training and supervision of undergraduate student course assistants and hourly employees.
Assist with the promotion, selection process, and timely distribution of internship funding from multiple scholarship funds. When required and appropriate, supervise the work of the career coaching staff.
Provide high quality, high-touch, and customer-service driven career advising, coaching, and education to students across all Moody College of Communication majors.
Advise in a hybrid environment (in person and online), individually and/or in small groups on all phases of career development, including resume reviews, mock interviews, career exploration, and internship and job search strategies.
Present career planning concepts to students through small and large group career preparation workshops and seminars. Deliver career content in curricular and co-curricular spaces.
Assist with presentation preparation and lead section(s) of a required Moody Foundations course focused on career readiness.
Plan, coordinate, and present industry-focused career programming and workshops that offer tailored resources and opportunities for careers, professional development, and employer connections. Assist with outreach and program development for relevant Moody stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and student organizations.
Work with the Associate Director of Career Education and the external relations team to develop engaging, student-facing employer events with clearly articulated learning outcomes.
Maintain current knowledge of industry trends in order to identify potential areas for team growth.
Manage the smooth delivery of daily career coaching and drop-in operations to maintain regular availability of services.
Help with occasional hiring and semesterly training for undergraduate course assistants to support the delivery of the COM 302E course.
Regularly update training materials for Eastin Center and curricular use; assist with updating and maintaining documentation for onboarding and ongoing professional development.
Manage shared inbox and voicemail to ensure timely and accurate communication. Monitor incoming messages, respond directly or route messages to the appropriate departments or team members. Maintain organized records of correspondence and ensure follow-up actions are completed efficiently.
Follow guidelines and processes for approval and review of communications to ensure Moody College brand alignment and strategic use of communication channels.
Promote career-related events, workshops, job fairs, and seminars to drive student participation. Partner with Eastin Center team members and Marketing and Communication team to develop strategic messaging and ensure consistent, on-brand, and timely messaging.
Develop visually engaging, on-brand presentations and written materials to support the Eastin Center's initiatives, programs, and communications as needed. Materials may include slide decks, web content, promotional content, and emails.
