- **** Job Details:**## General Notes This is a temporary, hourly position at the J.J. Pickle Research Campus in North Austin. Travel within the state of Texas is required in this position.## Purpose As part of a multi-disciplinary, integrated research team, this position provides support on configuration, maintenance and deployment of seismic stations in Texas. This position will end May 31, 2026.##
Responsibilities
* Deployment and maintenance of seismic stations and scouting new sites for station deployment. This involves erecting solar panels, deploying power systems and instruments in electronics cabinets and deploying sensors in the ground or on built structures.
* Repairing failed equipment or characterizing failures for return to manufacturer.
* Documenting field activities, such as failures found, method of repair and instruments replaced and deployed.
* Monitoring and maintaining supplies inventory, placing orders as needed.
* Preparing instruments and equipment for seismic station deployment and maintenance field trips.##
Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED and four years experience in electronic troubleshooting, assembly and configuration. Proficient in typical office computer tools such as outlook, word, excel and PowerPoint.##
Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in an electronics and two years experience in electronic troubleshooting, assembly and configuration. Expert in typical office computer tools such as outlook, word, excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of using Teams and Slack.## Driving Required This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence.
If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).## Salary Range $30+ hourly, dependent on qualifications.## Working Conditions
