Project Engineer - Gas Line or Transmission Line

Base pay range

$60.00/hr - $80.00/hr

A Project Engineer – Gas Line / Transmission Line is required for a large Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power project north of Austin, Texas. This long-term, field-based W-2 contract role supports EPC execution of the natural gas supply scope, including transmission line and interconnect work, from construction through commissioning.

Responsibilities
  • Support field execution of the gas transmission line and interconnect scope in coordination with the EPC and pipeline contractors.
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, and daily coordination of construction activities.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and work packages to support field execution.
  • Track progress, quantities, and productivity; support schedule updates and reporting.
  • Support RFI management, field change documentation, and interface coordination.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and tie-in activities with contractors and inspectors.
  • Support QA/QC, safety compliance, and environmental requirements for pipeline construction.
  • Assist with turnover documentation and commissioning readiness for the gas supply system.
Qualifications
  • 5–10 years of project engineering or field engineering experience on gas transmission, pipeline, or utility infrastructure projects.
  • Experience supporting EPC or owner-side execution of gas line or transmission scopes.
  • Working knowledge of pipeline construction methods, materials, and testing requirements.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, DOT).
  • Strong coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work full-time on site in a field-based construction environment.
  • Competitive hourly W-2 pay based on experience.
