Position: Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer

Overview

Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer based in Austin, Texas with on-site requirements in Houston or Dallas, TX, working for Project Farma, a Perkin Elmer company. This fully onsite role supports biomanufacturing projects across the engineering lifecycle and emphasizes patient focus and people first mindset.

Responsibilities
  • Site Strategy – Support the execution of site strategy under the Site Lead, contributing to project tasks that align with Project Farma’s services. Prepare and execute CQV Protocols as assigned. Identify and report client needs or project challenges to the Site Lead. Maintain professional relationships with project team members and client POCs at the operational level to facilitate task completion.

  • Business Growth & Development – Deliver high-quality work that supports business growth opportunities. Provide data or insights (e.g., project progress, risks) to the Site Lead for dashboards or expansion discussions. Participate in tasks that support extensions or proposals, such as preparing deliverables for clients. Build meaningful internal and external relationships. Present Project Farma as a service to clients as needed. Communicate with clients professionally and escalate client feedback or opportunities as appropriate.

  • Talent Development – Focus on professional development and collaboration under Site Lead guidance. Share technical knowledge to support project delivery.

  • Resource Management – Provide input on task-level resource needs to the Site Lead. Report workload or skill gaps and assist in maintaining project schedules by communicating resource constraints.

  • Technical Delivery – Align with cross-functional client departments (Validation, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, Project Controls). Communicate updates and relay in-field decisions to highlight impacts. Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting through the engineering lifecycle of equipment and processes. Perform due diligence to generate high-quality deliverables. Execute technical tasks and CQV activities under Site Lead guidance. Ensure compliance with client specs, regulatory requirements (FDA, GMP), and industry standards.

    Author technical documents (SOPs, requirement specs, testing protocols, summary reports). Identify and close knowledge gaps with team support. Validate systems and processes following GxP best practices. Proactively identify roadblocks and propose creative solutions. Support billables as forecasted by site dashboards. Maintain internal site tools like dashboards and trackers. Develop Core Project Farma services knowledge, including CQV, validation, quality, regulatory, and compliance.

    Have a general understanding of EVA and PO management tooling. Analyze complex project data and communicate findings clearly to support decisions. May assist with Project Controls and Scheduling (budgets, schedules, milestones, risks, forecasts, cost reports).

Operational Performance & Billability
  • Maintain 100% individual billability by completing assigned project tasks. Escalate roadblocks on billable targets to the Site Lead.

Experience Required
  • 0-4 years’ experience in consulting and/or engineering services.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent work experience in CQV engineering, cGMP facility start-up, project management and/or military experience).

Other Required
  • Full-time on-site client presence

  • Willingness to travel up to 100% or as required
